Accident Management Support  FAQs

Q: What should I do immediately after an accident?

A: Make sure everyone is safe, exchange insurance and contact details with the other driver, and take photos of the damage and the scene if it is safe to do so. Then contact Finesse, we can advise on next steps and start the assessment process without delay. You do not need to wait for your insurer to instruct a repairer before getting in touch with us.

Q: Do I have to use the bodyshop my insurer recommends?

A: No. You have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired, whether you are making a fault or non-fault claim. Your insurer may recommend their approved repairer network, but they cannot require you to use it. See our insurance accident repair page and non-fault accident repair page for more detail on your rights in each situation.

Q: How quickly can Finesse assess my vehicle?

A: Contact us and we will arrange an assessment at your nearest centre as quickly as possible. Where your vehicle is not driveable, we can arrange collection. The assessment itself is thorough, we check for visible damage and any underlying issues, including a diagnostic scan where safety systems may be affected, so you have a complete picture before any work begins.

Q: Is a courtesy car available?

A: Yes, subject to availability at the time of your repair. Courtesy vehicles are available at all three centres in Bracknell, Dorking and Redhill. If your accident was not your fault, you may also be entitled to a like-for-like replacement vehicle through the at-fault insurer, our team can advise on this when you contact us.
